Rust stains are one of the most common problems you'll encounter when it comes to keeping your pumps clean and looking great. The good news is that they don't have to be permanent. If you take the right steps and use the right products, you can restore your pump and remove those ugly rust stains.

Step 1: Collect Supplies for Cleaning Rust Stains

You'll need some basic supplies for cleaning rust stains from your pump. Gather up a pair of gloves, a few cloths, vinegar, and baking soda.

Step 2: Apply Vinegar to the Spot

Before applying anything else to the spot, dampen a cloth with vinegar and rub stain gently. You may need to let the vinegar sit on stain for a few minutes before trying to scrub it out.

Step 3: Use Baking Soda as an Abrasive

Once the vinegar has had a chance to work its magic, it's time to give the stain a scrub. Mix equal parts baking soda and water to make a paste. Scrub the stain with a damp cloth covered in this paste, using gentle circular motions.

Step 4: Rinse and Dry

After scrubbing the rusty stain, rinse the area with warm water and a cloth to remove any residual baking soda paste. Finally, let the area dry off completely before putting the pump back into use.
