Piqué fabrics are a popular choice for clothing, bedding, and other items because they’re soft, lightweight, and breathable. But when rust stains get into fabric, they can be very unsightly and difficult to remove. Luckily, there are some simple steps you can take to tackle those pesky rust stains and bring your piqué fabric back to life.

What You Will Need

  • Lemon juice
  • Vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Clean cloth

Steps to Remove Rust Stains from Your Piqué

  1. Mix equal parts lemon juice and vinegar to form a paste.
  2. Apply the paste onto the stained area of the piqué and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  3. After 15 minutes, rub a generous amount of baking soda onto paste.
  4. Using a clean cloth, scrub stained area gently.
  5. Rinse paste off with cold water.
  6. If stain is still there, repeat the process until it is gone.

Once the rust stain is completely gone, toss the fabric in washing machine with normal laundry detergent. Air dry once finished. This process may require some patience and persistence, but it should eventually yield the desired result.
