Materials Needed:

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Dish soap
  • Old toothbrush or soft-bristled brush
  • Laundry detergent

Steps

  1. Mix 2 parts white vinegar with 2 parts baking soda to create a paste.
  2. Spread the paste onto the rust stain and scrub it gently with an old toothbrush or a soft-bristled brush.
  3. Let the paste sit on the rust stain for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Rinse off the paste with cold water.
  5. Mix 2 teaspoons of dish soap with 1 cup of cold water and apply to the stained area.
  6. Scrub the area gently with brush and rinse with cold water.
  7. If the stain is still visible, mix a teaspoon of laundry detergent with 1 cup of cold water and apply to stained area. Scrub the area gently with the brush and rinse with cold water.
  8. Let the fabric air dry.
