Step 1: Gather Your Materials

You'll need the following items before you get started:

  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Lemon juice
  • Cotton swabs
  • Cotton cloths
  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar

Step 2: Prepare the Cleaning Solution

Start by creating a cleaning solution out of two parts hydrogen peroxide and one part lemon juice. Mix the ingredients together and stir until they are fully combined. Then, dampen a cotton cloth with the solution, being sure not to saturate or douse the cloth.

Step 3: Apply the Solution to the Stain

Once you have the cleaning solution ready, use your cotton swab to apply the mixture directly onto the rust stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes and then use the damp cloth to lightly scrub the area. You should be able to see results almost immediately. If the affected area still appears stained, try making a paste out of baking soda and vinegar and applying it to stain. Let this sit for 10-15 minutes and then wipe it away. This should do the trick, but you may need to repeat the process if the stain persists.
