How to Easily Remove Rust Stains from Jacquard Fabric

Accidents happen, and sometimes rust stains can find their way onto our jacquard fabrics. While it may seem like these accidents are permanent, there are easy ways to clean rust stains from jacquard fabrics with household items.

What You’ll Need

  • Dish soap
  • Hydrogen peroxide solution
  • Soft brush or rag
  • Vinegar
  • Baking soda

Instructions For Removing Rust Stains From Jacquard Fabric

  1. Mix one part dish soap with two parts hydrogen peroxide solution.
  2. Test this solution on a small hidden area of fabric.
  3. If it doesn't damage the fabric, apply a generous amount of solution to stain.
  4. Gently scrub the stain with either a soft brush or a rag.
  5. Let the solution sit for about 5 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
  6. If stain has lightened, but it's still present, repeat steps 1-5.
  7. If the stain is still visible, mix one part vinegar with one part baking soda and apply the solution to stain.
  8. Let the solution sit before rinsing it off with cold water.
