Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

To start cleaning up rust stains from guipure lace, you’ll need to gather the following supplies:

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Soft-bristled brush (like a toothbrush)
  • Soft damp cloths
  • Towels

Step 2: Treat With Vinegar

Once you have all the necessary supplies, it’s time to start cleaning rust stains. To start, take a soft damp cloth and soak it in white vinegar. After cloth is saturated with vinegar, begin rubbing it gently but firmly onto the rust stain. This will help to loosen the stain and start to break it apart.

Step 3: Scrub With Baking Soda

Once the rust stains have been treated with vinegar, use your soft-bristled brush with baking soda to scrub stain. Be sure to be gentle so you don’t damage the fabric. Scrub for several minutes until the stain starts to fade away.

Step 4: Rinse & Repeat

After scrubbing, rinse the fabric with cool water and repeat Steps 2 and 3 if necessary. If the stain is still not completely gone, you can try applying a pre-treatment laundry detergent to fabric before washing.

Step 5: Wash & Air Dry

When the stain has been removed, it’s time to wash the guipure lace. Be sure to check the label for cleaning instructions and use a gentle cycle when washing delicate fabrics. Once the fabric has finished washing, hang it up to air dry. Do not put delicate fabrics in the dryer as this could cause damage.
