Goggles are an essential part of many activities, such as swimming, but they can quickly become marred by rust stains. It can be hard to get rid of these stains, but it isn't impossible. With a few simple supplies and a bit of elbow grease, you can remove rust stains from your goggles. Here’s how:

Things You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Soft cloth
  • Toothbrush

Cleaning the Rust Stain

  1. Fill a bowl or basin with hot water and enough white vinegar to create a solution with about 10% white vinegar.
  2. Submerge the goggles into the mixture and allow them to soak for about 15 minutes.
  3. After they’ve soaked, remove them from the solution and use a soft cloth to scrub the lenses in small circles. This will help loosen the rust stains.
  4. If any spots still remain, combine equal parts baking soda and water to make a paste. Use a toothbrush to gently rub the paste into stain and let sit for 10 minutes.
  5. Rinse off the baking soda paste with warm water and check for remaining rust stains. If needed, repeat the process until all of rust is gone.
  6. Once you’re satisfied with the results, let goggles air dry or dry them off with a soft cloth.

With these simple steps, you can quickly and easily get rid of rust stains from your goggles and keep them looking brand new. No more rusty lenses!
