Gather Supplies

First and foremost, you will need the following items for the job:

  • Gloves with rust stains
  • One cup of baking soda
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Old toothbrush

Pre-Treat the Gloves

Mix the baking soda and the dishwashing liquid together in a small bowl. You don’t want too much of either or the mixture will be too thick. Dip your old toothbrush into the mixture and use it to scrub the affected areas. You can use the same scrubbing motion you would use when washing dishes. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes, then rinse off with cold water.

Wash the Gloves

After pre-treating the gloves, put them into the washing machine on a gentle cycle with warm water. Make sure to use a mild detergent and avoid using any fabric softener or bleach to preserve the color and material of the gloves. Once the gloves have finished washing, hang them out to air-dry so the material doesn’t get damaged.
