5 Simple Steps to Get Rid of Rust Stains from Flip Flops

No one wants to wear flip flops covered in rust! Keeping your favorite flip flops in good condition can be a challenge, as they may become stained with rust over time. Fortunately, it's easy to clean rust stains from flip flops with some simple household items.

Step 1: Create a Vinegar and Salt Paste

Mix equal parts of white vinegar and salt in a bowl, stirring until it forms a paste.

Step 2: Apply the Paste to the Stain

Make sure the paste is applied directly on top of the rust stain. Rub the paste onto the affected area with your fingertips or a soft cloth.

Step 3: Let Paste Sit

Let the paste sit for at least 30 minutes to give it time to work.

Step 4: Rinse with Water

Rinse the paste off with lukewarm water and gently scrub the area with a soft bristled brush.

Step 5: Spot-Check and Dry

Once you have finished rinsing, use a soft cloth to blot area. Check for any remaining rust stains and repeat process until satisfied. Finally let the flip flops air dry, and that’s it!
