Cotton seersucker is a light, breathable fabric that has a distinctive crinkled texture. Unfortunately, it is prone to rust stains. If not treated quickly, the stains can set in and be tough to remove.

DIY Method for Removing Rust Stains from Cotton Seersucker

  1. Mix together a solution of 1 tablespoon of dish detergent and 1 cup of cool water.
  2. Spread a clean towel or rag on a flat surface. Place stained area of the cotton seersucker on the towel.
  3. Using a dropper or teaspoon, gently drop the solution onto the rusty areas.
  4. Let the solution sit for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to work up a lather over stain.
  6. Rinse the stained area with cold water until the water runs clear.
  7. Lay the seersucker on a clean towel and press out the excess moisture.
  8. Leave the fabric to air dry, preferably outdoors.

This DIY method should successfully remove rust stains from cotton seersucker. You may need to repeat the steps if the stain persists or is particularly stubborn.
