What You'll Need

  • Liquid dish soap
  • Soft toothbrush
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Clean cloths

Step 1: Create a Soap Solution

Create a soapy solution using liquid dish soap and warm water. Gently scrub any stubborn rust stains with the soft toothbrush. If the stain persists, then move onto the next step.

Step 2: Use Vinegar and Baking Soda

Mix equal parts white vinegar and baking soda to create a paste. Apply this paste to the rust stains and let it sit for several minutes. Then, scrub the stain with soft toothbrush. Rinse off the paste with warm water.

Step 3: Dry the Shoes

Once all the rust stains are gone, carefully dry the shoes with a clean cloth. Make sure you don't rub too hard or else the fabric could get damaged.
