Clogs are a popular type of footwear for a reason: they’re comfortable, long-lasting, and fashionable. However, just like any other item of clothing, they may become discoloured due to dirt and grime, especially on the rubber parts. Rust stains are one of the more stubborn types of dirt and can be difficult to remove. But with the right knowledge, materials, and tools, it’s possible to restore your clogs.

Materials Needed

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • A bowl or bucket
  • Paper towel
  • Soft-bristled brush

Instructions

  1. Do a light scrub of the affected area with paper towel and warm, soapy water. Be sure to use a gentle scrubbing motion.
  2. Mix equal parts white vinegar and baking soda in a bowl or bucket.
  3. Using a soft-bristled brush, work the vinegar and baking soda mixture into the rust stains.
  4. Leave the mixture to sit for at least 15 minutes.
  5. Scrub the area again with a soft-bristled brush.
  6. Rinse the area with warm, soapy water.
  7. Pat dry with a paper towel.

With these simple steps, you can easily remove rust stains on your clogs and restore them to their original condition.
