Step 1: Blot the Stain

Blot the area around the rust stain to absorb as much of liquid as possible. Use a clean cloth or paper towel. Don't rub, which could cause the rust stain to spread.

Step 2: Apply a Rust Remover

Apply a commercial rust remover to stain. Follow the directions on the product label for best results. Allow the remover to sit for about five minutes before rinsing it away.

Step 3: Rinse & Launder

Fill your sink or a large container with lukewarm water. Gently swish the garment in the water to rinse away the rust remover. Let the garment air-dry. Finally, toss it in washing machine on its own using the gentlest cycle. Hang dry afterwards.

Conclusion

Rust stains can be difficult but it’s possible to get them out of chiffon fabric. Use the steps above to tackle rust stains on chiffon fabrics. And remember to always read and follow the care instructions on label of your garment.
