What You'll Need

  • Rust Remover (available at most home and hardware stores)

  • Detergent
  • Clean Towel

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Test the Rust Remover on a hidden area of the fabric first. This will make sure the remover does not damage the cashmere.
  2. Apply rust remover to the stained area using a washcloth or sponge.
  3. Let the remover sit on the stained area for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Use a clean sponge or washcloth with warm water to wipe away the rust remover and any remaining rust stains.
  5. Apply detergent to the area and scrub gently. You may need to repeat application of detergent and scrubbing until the stain fades away.
  6. Rinse away the detergent and rust remover with cool water.
  7. Gently dab the fabric dry with a clean towel.
