How to Remove Rust Stains from Carrickmacross Lace
- Start by dipping the soft toothbrush into the mixture of dish soap and warm water. Gently scrub the stained area of the lace. If you don't see an immediate improvement, move on to the next step.
- Mix some white vinegar with baking soda until you create a paste. Apply the paste to the rusted area and work it into the fabric using either the toothbrush or a scrub sponge. Allow paste to sit on the lace for about 5 minutes before wiping it away with a clean cloth.
- Rinse the affected area under warm running water until all of the baking soda paste has been removed.
- Lay your lace out flat to air dry.
