Four Easy Steps to Remove Rust Stains from Canvas

Rust stains can be an eyesore, but they don’t have to stay on you canvas forever. With right supplies and a bit of elbow grease, you can remove rust stains from your canvas in just a few simple steps.

Materials Needed

  • White, cotton cloth
  • Lemon juice
  • Baking soda
  • Small, clean toothbrush

Instructions

  1. Start by combining 1 tablespoon of lemon juice with 1 teaspoon of baking soda and stirring it into a paste.
  2. Apply the paste to the rust stain using the toothbrush.
  3. Let the paste sit on the rust stain for 10 minutes.
  4. Using the cloth, wipe away the paste and the rust.

Tips

  • If stain does not immediately come out, repeat steps 1-4.
  • If the stain is particularly stubborn, consider soaking the area with white vinegar for 30 minutes before starting the process.
