- Rust remover
- Water
- Mild detergent
- Soft cloth
- Toothbrush
How to Clean
- Treat any rust stains with a rust remover. Follow manufacturers instructions for application.
- Rinse the Battenberg lace with water.
- Mix a mild detergent in warm water and gently agitate fabric with your hands to create a sudsy solution.
- Use a soft cloth to rub surface of the lace with the soapy mixture.
- Soak fabric for 10 minutes. If there are stubborn stain remaining, use a toothbrush to gently scrub the stained area.
- Rinse the fabric in clean water until all soap residue is gone.
- Lay the fabric flat on a towel and pin in place to prevent it from slipping while drying.
