Activewear often gets roughed up from dirt and mud. And with outdoor activities come rust stains. Instead of dealing with permanent staining, take action quickly and remove the rust with a few simple steps.

What You'll Need

  • Dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Cream of Tartar
  • Towels or cloths
  • Laundry detergent

Instructions

  1. Mix one tablespoon of dish soap with two tablespoons of white vinegar in a bowl.
  2. Create a paste by adding baking soda and cream of tartar to the mixture.
  3. Use a towel or cloth to rub mixture into the fabric.
  4. Allow the paste to sit for a few minutes.
  5. Rinse the affected area with water.
  6. If the stain has not been removed, repeat the steps.
  7. Once the stain is gone, use laundry detergent to wash the item according to manufacturer's instructions.

  • Do not bleach activewear, as this may permanently damage it.
  • Always read and follow manufacturer's instructions when washing activewear.
