Before attempting to clean the area, it’s important to learn about the material of the clothing. There are different ways to clean a rouge stain depending on fabric of your garment. If it’s a delicate fabric like silk or wool, it’s best to go to a professional dry cleaner. If it’s more of a sturdy fabric like cotton, linen, or polyester, you can try spot-cleaning stain.
If you’re trying to remove a rouge stain from clothing made of a sturdy fabric, the first step is to prepare the area. Blot stain with a white cloth or paper towel to get rid of any excess rouge. Do not rub or scrub the area, as this may just spread the stain further into the fabric.
One of the simplest techniques to remove rouge is to use a mild detergent with warm water. Mix a teaspoon of liquid detergent in a bowl of lukewarm water and use a cloth to dab the mixture onto affected area. Continue to dab the affected area until the stain begins to lighten. Then, rinse the area with cold water and blot until it’s completely dry.
If the rouge stain is stubborn, you may need to use a stronger cleaning solution. Fill a bowl with equal parts rubbing alcohol and liquid detergent and mix it together. Dip a cloth in the mix and dab it onto the affected area and continue to dab until the stain starts to disappear. Rinse the area and blot with a clean cloth until it’s dry.
If the rouge stain still won’t go away, you may want to try using a specialized product designed to remove makeup stains. Look for a liquid-based product that’s made for removing rouge stains from fabric and follow instructions on the package. Many of these products are color-safe, so it’s safe to use them on any colored garment.
Prevention is key when it comes to rouge stains. To keep your workwear looking its best, make sure to do regular spot-cleanings and proper care. This will not only help you avoid future rouge stains but also extend the life of your garments.
