Rouge is an oil-based, waterproof product that’s commonly used to provide protection to tents and other camping gear. However, it’s also prone to staining, which means that rouge-treated gear can easily become marked with dirt, grease, and other substances. Fortunately, there are a few different methods you can use to clean rouge stains from your camping gear.
The first method for cleaning rouge stains is spot treating. This involves directly applying a cleaning solution to the stained area and then rubbing it in. For best results, you should use a solution that contains a combination of ingredients such as dish soap, distilled white vinegar, and baking soda. After you’ve applied the solution, let it sit for about 15 minutes before scrubbing it off with a damp rag.
The second method involves putting your stained gear into a washing machine. To do this, you should first mix together a gallon of warm water and one cup of laundry detergent. Then, put your gear into the machine and start a gentle cycle. Once the cycle is complete, hang your gear up and let it air dry.
If the two previous methods fail, you could try using rubbing alcohol and water to clean rouge stains. Simply mix together equal parts rubbing alcohol and water and apply the solution to the stained area. Rub it in and let it sit for about 15 minutes before wiping it off with a damp rag.
Cleaning rouge stains from tent and camping gear doesn’t have to be difficult. With the right tools and a bit of patience, you can easily get rid of nasty stains and restore your gear to its former glory. Just remember to test a small area beforehand to make sure that cleaning method you’re using won’t damage your gear. Good luck!
