What You'll Need

  • Warm water
  • Laundry detergent
  • Soft cloth

Instructions

  1. Dampen a soft cloth with warm water.
  2. Gently dab the affected area with the cloth. Be careful not to rub the rouge further into the stocking.
  3. Mix your laundry detergent with warm water in a bucket until you've formed a soapy solution.
  4. Submerge the stockings in the soapy water, and let them soak for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove the stockings from the water and rinse them with warm water.
  6. Allow stockings to air-dry before wearing.

Tips

  • Be sure to test the detergent in a less visible area of the stocking before use.
  • If the stain persists, try soaking the stockings in glycerin for several hours.
  • For more stubborn stains, dissolve 1 tablespoon of baking soda in 1 cup of warm water. Dip the affected area in the solution for up to an hour and rinse.
