Rouge stains are one of the most common types of stains found on sports bras. Whether they result from makeup, sweat, or other activities, they can be embarrassing and difficult to remove. Fortunately, there are a variety of different methods you can use to get rid of these stains and return your sports bra to its original state.

Step 1: Pre-treat the Stain

The first step in removing a rouge stain is to pre-treat stain with a stain remover, such as laundry detergent or stain remover spray. Apply the pre-treatment and let it sit for 10 minutes to give it time to break down the stain. After 10 minutes, scrub the area with a clean cloth to loosen the stain.

Step 2: Wash in Machine

Next, wash the sports bra in the washing machine. It's important to use cold water and a gentle cycle, as hot water may set stain further into the fabric. Use a mild detergent and don't add any fabric softener, as this can make the stain even harder to remove. Once the cycle is complete, inspect the bra to make sure the stain has been removed.

Step 3: Air Dry in Direct Sunlight

Finally, hang the sports bra to dry in direct sunlight. The heat and light from the sun will help break down any remaining stain and help restore the fabric's original color. Once bra is completely dry, inspect again to make sure the stain has been removed.

Additional Tips

  • Always pre-treat stains before washing, as this will make them easier to remove.
  • Avoid using hot water and harsh detergents, as this can damage the fabric.
  • Hang the sports bra to dry in direct sunlight, as this will help break down the stain.
