If your spandex clothing is looking a bit worse for wear after a particularly rough night out, you might want to consider cleaning it as soon as possible. Rouge stains on spandex can be notoriously stubborn and cause discoloration on the fabric if not removed quickly.

What You'll Need

  • Cleaning solution of your choice – laundry detergent, dish soap, etc.
  • Cold water
  • Towel

Steps

  1. Mix your chosen cleaning solution with cold water in a bowl.
  2. Dampen a towel with the mixture and apply to stained area.
  3. Gently rub cloth against the fabric in a circular motion. Do not scrub too hard, as this may cause damage to the material.
  4. Check to see if the stain has shifted or lightened.
  5. If necessary, repeat steps 2-4 until the stain is completely gone.
  6. Once stain is gone, rinse fabric in cold water and allow to air dry.

This method should help to remove most rouge stains from spandex clothing, but always read the care label on the garment before attempting to clean it.
