With summer just around corner, a lot of people are ready to break out their sneakers again and hit the beach. But if you’ve been storing them away for a while, there’s a chance you could find some unsightly rouge stains on them – and these stains can be pretty tough to remove.
The good news is that it’s not impossible. Here are a few simple steps you can take to get rid of those rouge spots and make your sneakers look fresh and new again:
If you don’t have a commercial stain remover handy, you can also try using a paste made from baking soda and water. Simply mix the two ingredients together until it forms a thick paste, then spread it onto stained area and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Afterward, simply rinse off the paste and you should see the stain start to diminish.
You can also try wiping the stains with white vinegar or lemon juice. These natural products are great for removing rouge stains and are often gentler on fabrics than commercial formula products. As with the baking soda solution, just apply the vinegar or lemon juice to the affected area and let it sit for a few minutes before wiping it away.
If all else fails, you can also take your sneakers to a professional dry cleaner who will be able to help you out. Just remember to tell them that you’re dealing with rouge stains so they know how to best tackle the problem.
With a bit of effort, you can easily get rid of pesky rouge stains on your sneakers and make them look brand new again. Just remember to always use a gentle cleaning agent and a soft brush to avoid damaging the fabric of your shoes.
