When dealing with silk faille, a stain can be quite difficult to remove, especially if it’s a rouge stain. The rouge may end up setting into the fabric and become embedded in the fibers, making it difficult to remove. But with the right technique, it’s possible to remove these stains without damaging the delicate silk faille material.

What You’ll Need For the Stain Removal Process

  • Mild detergent (a non-bleach type is recommended)
  • Water
  • Old toothbrush
  • White vinegar
  • Absorbent cloths

Instructions for Removing Rouge Stains from Silk Faille

  1. Create a light soap solution by diluting the mild detergent in warm water (one teaspoon per cup of water)
  2. Using your old toothbrush, scrub the stain gently but thoroughly
  3. Allow the soap solution to rest on the stained area for a few minutes
  4. Rinse off the detergent solution with cold water
  5. Soak a piece of absorbent cloth in white vinegar and lay it over the rouge stain
  6. Let the vinegar soak into the stain for 10 minutes
  7. Rinse off vinegar with cold water
  8. Repeat the steps until the stain is removed

When finished, you can hang garment to dry and inspect how much of the stain has been removed. If there is any remaining, repeat the steps listed above.
