The first step is to spot test whatever stain remover you want to use on an inconspicuous area of shirt. If it doesn’t cause any damage, you can proceed with using that product. Make sure not to apply the product directly to the stain; instead, put some on a cloth and gently dab it on the stain. Don’t rub it in too hard, as it can cause the stain to spread.
If the stain remains, you can try mixing together one part dish soap and one part hydrogen peroxide or white vinegar and applying it to the stain. After applying, let the mixture sit for five minutes and then rinse it off. If the stain remains, you can repeat this process with a new solution until it is fully gone.
If you have a stubborn stain that won’t go away, you can try using a commercial laundry pre-treatment product. Read and follow the instructions on the product carefully to make sure you use it correctly. Once you’ve applied the product, let it sit for a few minutes and then throw shirt in the washing machine with the rest of your laundry. When it’s finished washing, check to see if the stain is gone. If it isn’t, you can repeat this process.
No matter how careful you are, sometimes it’s impossible to avoid rouge stains on your clothing. If this happens, don’t despair! With a few simple steps and some handy products, you can get those stains out quickly and easily.
