The first step is to test the colorfastness of the satin fabric. To do this, take a damp cloth or cotton ball and lightly dab the area where stain is present. If the color does not transfer to the cloth or cotton ball, then fabric is considered colorfast. However, if color does transfer, then the fabric is not considered colorfast and you should not proceed.
Once you have determined that the fabric is colorfast, the next step is to make a cleaning solution. To make this solution mix one teaspoon of laundry detergent with two cups of cold water. Once this has been done, dip a clean cloth into the solution and wring out any excess liquid.
Using the damp cloth, gently blot the stained area until the stain begins to dissipate. Do not rub the stain, as this can cause the stain to spread. Keep in mind that this process may need to be repeated several times before the stain completely disappears.
Once the stain has been removed, you should rinse the fabric with cold water to remove any remaining detergent residue. This will also help to ensure that no further damage is done to the fabric.
Finally, the last step is to allow the fabric to air dry. Do not put the fabric in the dryer, as this can cause the fabric to shrink. If you need to speed up drying process, use a fan or a hairdryer set to low heat.
