What You'll Need:

  • Mild laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Soft-bristled toothbrush
  • Cotton swabs
  • Towels or cloths

Instructions:

  1. Start by mixing a solution of mild laundry detergent and white vinegar in a bowl. The ratio should be 1 teaspoon of detergent and 2 teaspoons of white vinegar.
  2. Soak a soft bristled toothbrush in the solution.
  3. Gently (very gently!) scrub rouge stain using the brush and the solution. Start at the edges of the stain and work your way inwards.
  4. When it no longer looks like the stain is lifting, stop scrubbing and rinse the lace with cold water.
  5. Once rinsed, gently blot (do not rub!) the stained area with a towel to remove excess moisture.
  6. If there is still some residue, dab a cotton swab in some white vinegar and gently dab the remaining residue.
  7. Once all the residue is gone, rinse one more time and blot with a towel again.
  8. Lastly, hang the lace up to air dry and voila, you have a clean piece of Rosepoint lace!
