Steps to Clean Rouge Stains from Raincoats

  1. Before attempting to remove rouge stains, check the care label on your raincoat. Some items may not allow for any cleaning solutions to be applied.
  2. Gently scrape off anything that is not part of the stain with a soft-bristled brush. Be careful not to spread the stain.
  3. Mix a solution of 1 teaspoon of dishwashing detergent in 1 cup (240 ml) of warm water. Use a mild detergent to avoid damaging the fabric.
  4. Dip a cloth in the solution and dab at the stained area on your raincoat. Do not rub, as this could spread the stain further.
  5. Continue to dab until the stain has been lifted. Do not pour the solution directly onto the fabric as this could soak into the material, worsening the problem.
  6. Once the stain has come out, rinse soapy solution off with cold water.
  7. If there is still a stain remaining, repeat these steps until it is lifted.

Tips for Preventing Rouge Stains on Raincoats

  • Read the care instructions on your raincoat and follow any special instructions for cleaning and storing it.
  • Keep your raincoat away from direct heat sources such as radiators or heaters.
  • Place a cloth or tissue between your skin and the rouge-stained area of the raincoat to help prevent further staining.
  • Be sure to replace any broken zippers or buttons on your raincoat to ensure it stays close to the body and away from areas where it could be stained.
