What You'll Need
- A liquid laundry detergent with an oxygen-based bleach
- Stain remover, such as OxiClean
- A white cloth
- Oxygen bleach powder
- Rubbing alcohol (optional)
Step-by-Step Instructions
- If rouge stain is still wet and fresh, try soaking it in a solution of one part liquid laundry detergent and two parts water. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes before rinsing off.
- If the stain is dry, rinse it in cold water until it becomes saturated. Then apply a generous amount of liquid detergent or stain remover and work the solution into the fabric.
- Soak the area in warm water for 30 minutes and then rub the stained area with a clean white cloth. Rinse out the cloth when necessary.
- If the stain remains, mix one part oxygen bleach powder with two parts water and use a white cloth to rub the solution onto the fabric until the stain is gone. Rinse the fabric thoroughly afterward.
- Finally, if all else fails, try rubbing a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto the fabric until the stain disappears. Rubbing alcohol will often remove the rouge, but be sure to test it on a small area first.
