Before you start scrubbing off the stain, first pre-treat it with a laundry detergent or pre-wash stain remover. This is usually enough to get rid of lighter rouge stains, but if stain persists then proceed to the next step.
Fill a basin with cold water and add your detergent. Soak stained area of the overalls for at least 15 minutes and then rinse the area with cold water. This should remove some of the rouge stain. If it does not help, proceed to next step.
Oxygen bleach helps to remove tough rouge stains from your overalls. Simply mix the oxygen bleach according to the package instructions, apply it to the stained area and allow it to set for around 15 minutes. After that, launder the overalls on the highest temperature setting allowed by the fabric.
White vinegar can also help in removing rouge stains from overalls. Dilute some white vinegar and dab it onto the stained area. Use a soft bristle brush to gently scrub the area, then rinse it with cold water and launder as usual. White vinegar is a natural fabric softener and will leave your overalls smelling fresh.
If all else fails, try using a solvent cleaner such as rubbing alcohol or acetone. Apply cleaner to the stained area, let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse it off with cold water. Afterwards, launder the overalls as usual.
Getting rid of rouge stains from overalls can be a tricky task. With the right cleaning products and techniques, however, it can be done quickly and effectively. As long as you follow the instructions above and use appropriate products, you should be able to get rid of stubborn rouge stains with ease.
