The first step in removing rouge stains from your mask is to wash the fabric in warm water and detergent. Make sure to use gentle products that are designed for delicate fabrics, as strong products can damage the fabric or set in stain.
Once the garment has been washed and rinsed, it should be soaked in a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water. This solution can help to loosen the rouge stain and make it easier to remove.
After soaking, dab the fabric with a cloth or paper towel. Do not rub, as this can cause the stain to spread. It is important to remember to blot rather than scrub the fabric, as this will help to reduce the amount of bleeding and will help to avoid further staining.
If the stain is still visible after the soaking and dabbing, you can try applying a non-bleaching detergent to the stain. Again, blot rather than scrub the fabric to avoid spreading stain. Leave the detergent to soak for an hour before rinsing it off with cold water.
If the stain persists, you can try using rubbing alcohol on the fabric. Again, blot the fabric with a cloth or paper towel, rather than rubbing it. Leave the alcohol to sit for a few minutes before washing off with cold water.
Once stain has been removed, you can either rinse off any remaining detergent or alcohol residue with cold water, or you can air dry the fabric. Do not put fabric in dryer until you are sure that the stain has been completely removed.
Prevention is the best way to avoid having to deal with rouge stains on your mask. If you are wearing makeup, it is recommended to apply a primer before applying the rouge, as this will create a barrier between the rouge and the fabric which can help to prevent staining.
It is also important to avoid wearing dark colors when wearing rouge, as darker colors tend to absorb more pigment and can be more likely to stain.
Finally, if you do find yourself with a rouge stained mask, it is important to act quickly in order to prevent stain from setting in. The sooner you act, the better chance you will have of removing the stain completely.
