The first step in tackling a rouge stain is to identify it. Rouges come in many forms, from gels and sticks, to liquid formulas. Depending on the type of rouge you’re dealing with, you may need to choose an appropriate cleaning method.
Once you’ve identified the type of rouge you are dealing with, it’s time to create your cleaning solution. For most types of rouge, a combination of equal parts Dawn and vinegar works best. If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can add a few drops of rubbing alcohol. Mix the solution together in a small bowl or cup.
Once you’ve created your cleaning solution, it’s time to apply it to stained area. Using a clean rag, saturate the stained area with the solution. Allow the solution to sit for 5-10 minutes before blotting excess liquid with a paper towel. Do not rub or scrub the stained area.
Once excess liquid has been blotted away, rinse the area with cold water only. Avoid using hot water as this could cause the stain to set further. Repeat this process until the water runs clear.
Once stain is gone, wash your leggings in the washing machine with cold water and your usual detergent. Hang to dry. This method should be used as a last resort, as harsh detergents can damage fabric of your leggings.
Removing a rouge stain from your leggings doesn’t have to be difficult. With the right cleaning solution and a little patience, you can restore your leggings to their former glory. So, next time you accidentally get rouge on your leggings, don’t panic – just follow these easy steps to get them looking like new again.
