What You'll Need

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Soft cloths
  • Soap
  • Salt

Step-by-Step Process

  1. Lay the stained fabric on a clean surface and pour some rubbing alcohol directly onto the area.
  2. Gently dab the area with a soft cloth until the stain is removed. Avoid scrubbing it, as that could damage the fabric.
  3. Rinse the area with cold water.
  4. Mix some mild soap with cold water and apply it to the stained area.
  5. Soak the fabric in the solution for 10 minutes.
  6. Apply a paste made with salt and cold water to the area.
  7. Gently rub the paste into the fabric in a circular motion.
  8. Rinse the area with cold water and allow fabric to dry.

Tips

  • Always rinse the fabric several times to make sure all traces of the stain-removing products are gone.
  • Be sure to check any labels on the fabric before cleaning to make sure you're using the right method and products.
  • Test the cleaning method on a hidden part of the fabric before applying it to the stained area.
