Rouge is a type of makeup that comes in many shades, but is best known for its bright red color. As fabulous as it looks, Rouge can easily leave a stubborn, deep stain when dropped on clothing – especially fabrics like cashmere, silk and other delicate fibers.
Before you toss out the clothing item in frustration, try the following steps to remove the Rouge stain.
Step 1: Blot Immediately
As soon as you notice the stain, use a clean, white cloth to blot the area. Be sure not to rub the stain, as this could cause it to spread further across fabric.
Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain
Mix a small amount of detergent with some warm water to form a paste. Apply the paste gently to the stained area and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
Step 3: Apply OxiClean
Spray the stained area with a generous amount of OxiClean, or another oxygen-based cleanser. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then blot the area with a damp cloth.
Step 4: Launder the Clothing Item
If the stain is still there after blotting, it's time to go through with laundering. Put the clothing item in the washing machine with cold water and a small amount of detergent. Make sure to inspect area before you put it in the dryer.
Step 5: Seek Professional Help
