Rouge usually involves a bright red lip product such as lipstick and it can easily transfer onto headphones if you’re a bit careless. Luckily, it won’t be too difficult to get rid of if you follow these steps.
The simplest way to remove the stain is to use a mild soap and clean, warm water. Apply soap directly to the stained area and gently rub. This might take a few attempts before you see the stain completely disappear. Rinse the headphones off with lukewarm water afterwards.
If stain remains after trying soap and water, the next step is to break out the rubbing alcohol. Soak a cotton pad in the alcohol (not too much!) and then dab stained area. Try not to rub too hard in order to avoid further damage to the headphones.
If rubbing alcohol didn’t quite do the job, you can also try baking soda. Mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 1/2 cup of water, and use a soft cloth to apply solution to the stain. Leave it on for 15 minutes before rinsing it off. You may need to repeat this a few times for tough stains.
Some people suggest using harsh chemicals like nail polish remover to remove rouge stains from headphones. However, it’s best to stick to mild solutions such as the ones mentioned above in order to avoid damaging the headphone material.
