Steps for Removing Rouge Stains from Gingham

  1. Begin by blotting away any excess rouge from the gingham fabric using a clean cloth.
  2. Using warm water and a few drops of mild laundry detergent, create a sudsy solution in a bowl or sink.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix ¼ cup of white vinegar and ¾ cold water.
  4. Soak the stained portion of the fabric in the sudsy solution.
  5. Gently rub stained area with your fingertips until the stain begins to lighten. Consider using an old, soft-bristled toothbrush to help remove the stain.
  6. Rinse the area with the vinegar mixture.
  7. Finally, wash the fabric in the washing machine according to the care instructions on the label.
