If you have a tough rouge stain that needs immediate attention, there are several treatments you can use. Start by dampening the stained area with water. Then, mix a solution of light detergent and warm water. Rub the solution into the stain gently with a soft cloth, letting it sit for approximately five minutes. After that, rinse the dashiki with cold water and hang it up to dry.
Nothing is worse than an old stain coming back. To prevent this from happening, you'll need to start with pre-treatment. Use a small amount of detergent and cold water to pre-treat the rouge stained area before putting dashiki in the washer. This will keep the stain from setting and make it easier to remove when you give it a wash. After pre-treating, be sure to launder the dashiki per the instructions found on the label.
If you have a more stubborn rouge stain that just won’t come out, it may be time to call in a professional cleaner. With specialized products and techniques, they can usually get rid of the toughest of stains. If there's a dry-cleaning service in your area, take the dashiki there and ask for their help in removing the stain. Be sure to point out the specific area to make it easier for them to treat it.
