The first step is preparing a mixture that helps to remove the stain. To do so, mix a cup of water with a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid detergent and stir until you get a soapy mixture.
Soak the stained area in the prepared mixture and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing. For the best results, use cold water for soaking. This will help in setting the stain and make it easier to remove.
Once the affected area has been soaked and set, gently blot it with a soft cloth and rinse it in cold water. Be gentle while doing it and take care not to rub the fabric as this could spread stain.
Now is the time to use a good stain remover to get rid of the remaining stain. Look for products specially formulated for removing red wine stains and apply it directly on the affected area. Remember to check the label and instruction manual before applying any product. After applying the product, allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes before washing.
Rinse the product from the fabric and wash it in cool water. Once it’s washed, hang it up to dry and check for any remaining stains. If there still is some stubborn stain left, repeat the procedure of using a stain remover and washing. Also remember not to dry fabric using a dryer until the stain is completely gone.
