The best way to deal with a red wine stain on a thong is to tackle it immediately. The longer the stain is left, the more difficult it is to remove. The longer you wait, the deeper stain will penetrate the fabric.

Step one is to dab the stain gently with a paper towel or a piece of cloth. Do not rub it in as this could cause the stain to spread.

The next step is to make a solution by combining cold water with a mild detergent. You should test the solution on a small area of the thong before using it. This will ensure that the detergent does not discolour or damage the fabric.

Dip a clean cloth in the solution and blot the stain until liquid is absorbed. Rinse the stained area with cold water and repeat the process until the stain is completely gone.

If the stain persists, try soaking the thong in a mixture of cold water and white vinegar for 30 minutes before rinsing with cold water and repeating process. Alternatively, you can spot treat the stain with a hydrogen peroxide-based cleaning product.

Finally, wash thong in washing machine according to the instructions on the garment's label. Line-dry the thong in order to avoid fading or further damage to fabric.

By following these steps you can easily remove red wine stains from a thong.
