Red wine is quite the stain-causing culprit. Whether spilled accidentally or at a celebration, it’s easy to panic when you notice a bright red spill on an article of clothing or a pair of shoes. But don’t worry — while getting out red wine stains can be tricky, it’s far from impossible.

The first step to getting a red wine stain out of Superga shoes is to act fast. If left untreated, red wine can leave staining molecules and pigments deep in fabric, making it tougher to remove. So grab a paper towel and soak up as much of the liquid, as quickly as possible. Do not rub area as this could spread the stain further.

Once you’ve blotted up as much moisture as possible, mix a solution of one teaspoon of mild dishwashing liquid and ½ cup of club soda or cool water. Blot the mixture onto the stained area with a clean cloth or sponge. Once it’s dampened, allow the stain to sit for about 20 minutes. This helps loosen the stain molecules, making them easier to remove.

After the 20 minutes are up, take another damp cloth or sponge and start scrubbing gently. Avoid pushing down hard, as this could damage the fabric. Continue this until all signs of the stain are gone. This may take several applications and gentle scrubbings.

Once all of the stain has been removed, rinse off the area with cool water and let air dry. Do not place Supergas in the washing machine, as this could cause further damage.

With these steps, you should be able to easily remove a red wine stain from your beloved Supergas. Just remember to act fast and be gentle when scrubbing and you’ll be able to enjoy them for years to come.
