Start by blotting stain with a dry, white cloth or an old towel. This helps to absorb as much of the wine as possible, minimizing the area affected by the stain. It's important that the cloth used is white, as colored fabrics could transfer the color onto the slipper.
Mix equal parts warm water and white vinegar in a bowl. Dip a fresh white cloth in the solution and wring out well. Gently blot the stained area with damp cloth and let it sit for a few minutes.
Rinse the slippers in lukewarm water and let it air-dry.
If the stain still remains, you can use a gentle laundry detergent to scrub it out. Place a small amount of detergent onto stain and rub gently. Make sure you use a white cloth so that no color is transferred onto the slipper. Rinse with warm water and let air-dry.
