Start by removing as much excess wine as possible from the fabric. Use a paper towel or napkin to dab the area and soak up any remaining liquid. Then, pour some white wine over the stained section. The acidity of the white wine helps to neutralize the red wine stain and lighten the color.
Using a paste made from baking soda and water, gently rub the stain and work the mixture into fabric. Allow the paste to sit for 10 minutes or so before pouring warm water over the affected area. This should help lift the stain.
Next, fill a bucket with warm water and some laundry detergent. Submerge the sleep pants in the solution, and allow them to soak for 15-20 minutes. Once the soaking time is completed, use a scrub brush to work out the stain. Rinse with cold water, and then launder as usual.
If the stain persists, place a towel beneath the sleep pants and cover the area with some hydrogen peroxide. If that does not work, mix a solution of one part vinegar and one part dish soap and submerge pants in the solution for an hour.
