Step 1: Immediately Soak the Stain

The first step is to act fast. As soon as you can, grab a clean towel and dab and soak up as much of the red wine as possible. Get it all up before it has a chance to set in.

Step 2: Make a Solution

Once you’ve removed as much of red wine as possible, it’s time to work on stain itself. To do this, mix together a solution of one part vinegar with two parts cold water in a spray bottle. Make sure you are using white vinegar and distilled or purified water for best results.

Step 3: Spray and Blot

Spray the solution of vinegar and water onto the stain and use a clean white rag to blot stain until all of liquid has been absorbed. Repeat this process until the stain begins to lighten.

Step 4: Rinse and Dry

Once the stain has been weakened, rinse the area with cold water and use a hair dryer to dry the fabric.
