The first step in removing red wine stains from silk dupioni is to blot the stain as quickly as possible with a cloth or paper towel. Absorb as much of liquid as you can without smearing stain.
In a small bowl, make a cleaning solution of one part white vinegar and two parts cool water. Blend the mixture well until a uniform consistency is achieved.
Using a clean cloth, dip it into the mixture and apply it to stained area. Rub the cloth in a circular motion for about 60 seconds, allowing the mixture to penetrate the stain. Make sure to not rub too hard or scrub away any of material on the fabric.
Rinse the stained area with cold water and then pat dry with a cloth. If the stain persists, soak the fabric in cold water overnight, and then try blotting again in the morning.
