How to Easily Remove Red Wine Stains from Satin
You can get your satin fabric looking good as new with the right materials and techniques. Red wine stains can be particularly stubborn and tricky, but luckily there are several methods you can use for effective removal.

Materials Needed
- White cloth
- Paper towel
- Washing powder or liquid detergent
- A bleach-free dishwashing liquid
- White vinegar
- Ammonia
Instructions
- Blot stain with a white cloth. Do not rub. Lift up fabric and blot it underneath to pick up remaining liquid.
- Mix a few drops of dishwashing liquid with water in a small bowl.
- Dip a clean white cloth into the liquid and begin gently rubbing stain. Never scrub or scrape.
- If the stain is still there, take a paper towel and pour some white vinegar onto it. Dab the stain with the paper towel.
- Mix some ammonia with water and dip a white cloth in the mixture. Rub the stain gently.
- If stain is still not gone, mix a small amount of a mild detergent with water. Dab the stain with the mixture and rub gently. Be sure to dab instead of scrubbing.
- Once the stain has been removed, wash the entire piece of fabric according to the care instructions.
