When you’re wearing your favorite sarong and have an accident with red wine, don’t worry—there are a few things you can do to fully remove the stain. Depending on what type of fabric your sarong is made out of, you can use one the following methods.

Method 1: Using Club Soda

The carbonation in club soda works wonders for removing red wine stains. As soon as you notice the stain, liberally pour club soda onto the area. Leave it on for 5-10 minutes and then rinse with cold water. If the stain isn’t completely gone, apply the club soda method a few more times.

Method 2: Soak in Saltwater

If your sarong is made of delicate fabric, soaking in saltwater can gently remove the red wine stain. Start by creating a saltwater solution—just dissolve 3 tablespoons of rock salt in 2 cups of hot water. Soak your sarong in the solution for 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water, and repeat as needed.

Method 3: Vinegar and Baking Soda Solution

For especially tough red wine stains, a vinegar and baking soda solution may be necessary. Create a paste by mixing together equal parts white vinegar and baking soda. Apply the paste to stain, using a soft brush to scrub the area. Once you’ve taken care of the stain, rinse with cold water and let air-dry.

No need to stress about red wine stains ruining your sarong—with a few simple steps, you can remove them with ease!
