Materials Needed
- White Vinegar
- Baking Soda
- Sponge or Soft Cloth
- Liquid Dish Soap
- Clean Towel
- Laundry Detergent or Pre-Wash Soak
Step by Step Guide to Cleaning Red Wine Stains
- As soon as possible, blot up any excess wine still on the fabric with a clean towel.
- Fill a bowl with cool water and add a few drops of liquid dish soap.
- Submerge robe in soapy mixture and let sit for 15 minutes. Gently agitate the fabric while it soaks.
- Mix together equal parts of baking soda and white vinegar to make a paste. Spread the paste onto the stained area and let sit for 10 minutes.
- Rinse the robe under cool water until all of the paste is gone. Blot the robe with a clean cloth.
- If there is still a stain after these steps, use a pre-wash soak or laundry detergent designed to tackle tough stains.
- Wash the robe according to the garment's care instructions, usually in cold water.
- Let robe air dry or put it in dryer with a clean towel to absorb any lingering stains.
