Step by Step Guide to Cleaning Red Wine Stains

  1. As soon as possible, blot up any excess wine still on the fabric with a clean towel.
  2. Fill a bowl with cool water and add a few drops of liquid dish soap.
  3. Submerge robe in soapy mixture and let sit for 15 minutes. Gently agitate the fabric while it soaks.
  4. Mix together equal parts of baking soda and white vinegar to make a paste. Spread the paste onto the stained area and let sit for 10 minutes.
  5. Rinse the robe under cool water until all of the paste is gone. Blot the robe with a clean cloth.
  6. If there is still a stain after these steps, use a pre-wash soak or laundry detergent designed to tackle tough stains.
  7. Wash the robe according to the garment's care instructions, usually in cold water.
  8. Let robe air dry or put it in dryer with a clean towel to absorb any lingering stains.
