Steps to Remove Red Wine Stains
- Start by blotting up any excess wine with a clean cloth or paper towel.
- Mix together one part dish soap with two parts warm water in a bowl.
- Dip a soft cloth into the soapy solution and use it to gently scrub the stain.
- Make sure you scrub in circular motions, moving outward from center of the stain.
- Rinse off area with clean cool water. If stain is still visible, repeat the process.
- Allow purse to air dry.
Tips for Preventing Future Stains
- Avoid carrying open containers of red wine when wearing light colored clothing and purses.
- When out at a restaurant, place a napkin over your purse before putting down the glass of red wine.
- Be prepared with products that are designed to remove red wine stains, such as a spot-remover pen or even hairspray.
