What You Need

  • Rags
  • Mild detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Ammonia
  • Paper towels

Instructions

  1. Blot the stain with paper towels or rags to absorb as much of the wine as possible.
  2. Mix a mild detergent with cold water in a bowl and dip your rag in the mixture. Gently dab the area to work the detergent into the stain. Do not rub, otherwise you might spread the stain.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix equal parts white vinegar and ammonia with cold water. Dip the rag in the mixture and dab the stained area until the stain starts to fade. Make sure to dab the entire stained area and not just the center.
  4. Rinse the area with cold water and another rag.
  5. Let it air dry.

If this doesn’t work, then you may need to take the item to the dry cleaner. But with a little care and attention, your polyester item should be stain-free in no time!
